This creative-writing poetry workshop is open to no more than fifteen upper division students, although exceptional second-year students may also apply. Students will read contemporary poetry with attention to form i.e. sonic and syntactic patterns, but the seminar will focus on the craft(s) of writing and revising poetry. We will organize a poetry-reading at the end the semester to which friends are invited, Regular attendance is mandatory, as is turning in your work on time. Other requirements may include quizzes on assigned reading, one oral presentation, weekly writing assignments, revision.
