At Berkeley, my research aims to investigate the philosophical meta-categories that govern aesthetic discourse, namely as made explicit through French and Spanish avant-garde practice. Additionally, I am interested in the history of the formation of humanistic disciplines and canon(s), the ontological distinctions among artistic media, and the poststructuralist conception of rhetoric's relationship to philosophy. Prior to coming to Berkeley, I earned my BA in English, Art History, and Interpretation Theory from Swarthmore College and my MA in Critical Theory from the University of Sussex (UK) as a Fulbright Scholar.
