Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor awards for 2013-2014

Jerilyn Sambrooke, Ragini Srinivasan and Osita "IK" Udekwu have received Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor awards for 2013-2014. Each award winner will receive a $250 credit to his or her CARS account, and will be eligible for a Teaching Effectiveness Award. Esmeir receives Mellon fellowship

Samera Esmeir has been awarded the prestigious New Directions Fellowship from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The three year award will support her research project "Itineraries of Dissent: Law and Rebellion in the Ottomon Empire.

Congratulations Anthony Cascardi

The Renaissance Society of America (RSA) has selected Professor Anthony Cascardi's book Cervantes, LIterature, and the Discourse of Politics as the winner of the Phyllis Goodhart Gordan Book Prize for 2013. The award will be announced at the RSA conference in San Diego on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at RSA's annual awards ceremony. The prize committee received over 90 nominations this year.
