Rhetoric undergraduate students involved with the UC Berkeley Art of Writing program had the oportunity to interview pioneering computer scientist Jaron Lanier, who visited campus last April to engage in conversation with students about the effects of artificial intelligence on writing and other creative practices.
Lanier reflected on the repercussions of A.I. on writing, including on the development of voice, originality, and critical thinking skills in a conversation with Dr. Ramona Naddaff (Rhetoric) and Art of Writing undergraduate students: Ashlyn Reynolds, Alankrita Malhortra, Brooke Kirchner, Elsie Xu, Izzie Kim, Renata Reskala, Riley Nichols, Sanya Pirani, Stella Merims, Veronica Chen, Xingyu Ji, Zara Koroma.
