Nathan Atkinson

Bio: 

Nathan Atkinson earned his BA in Rhetoric at UC Berkeley in 2001, and his PhD in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon in 2009.

Before returning to Berkeley as a lecturer in 2017, Dr. Atkinson was an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Politics at Georgia State University, where his research focused on Cold War visual rhetoric. Presently, he teaches the theory and history of rhetoric more generally, though he maintains an emphasis on the intersection of visual and political culture. In addition, he is the Coordinator for the department’s program in Reading and Composition, and for the Tutoring Program in Art of Writing.
